About the Innkeeper

Caroline Coalter Wilson was a park ranger and naturalist with the National Park Service for 20 years before moving to Tucson and beginning a career with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.  She retired from the museum in May 2013.

She co-authored Canyons of Color: Utah’s Slickrock Wildlands and has written several other smaller publications on natural history.

Caroline designed Paca de Paja and was part of the construction crew to build it. She also designed the landscaping and created the landscaped areas and gardens around the home.

Her outdoor interests include hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, birding, and botanical study. Caroline has lived in Southern Arizona for over 30 years.

From the guest book:
“Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous house with us and giving us a little of its construction history. As a hostess you come as close to perfection as we have ever experienced. “
